Well, it was a trip! That’s for sure! I acquired a new name on this transaction! Ms. McGill, the lovely lady that sold the property, is a singer and picker of the guitar. She loves to play music and sing with everyone, especially her sister, Ruby! I met her going to church at the Story Church of God several years ago. The sisters would get up and sing songs from when they were kids along with Mr. McGill, who would play the mandolin. He passed away a few years ago. They are really neat sisters, for sure. I would tease Ms. McGill when I would go over to the house about changing the name on one of the bed frames from the person she was leaving it to and putting my name on it! She got a kick out of that.
Since I listed the house over a year ago, I got to visit with Ms. McGill on a regular basis. At first, she couldn’t remember my name and called me all sorts of variations of my given name, Deana. But, she landed on Deenie! If I called, if I stopped by, or anytime she has seen or spoken with me, it was Deenie! I think it has grown on me and I like the name now. I am very happy the house sold and there will be great neighbors for everyone around. But, I am sad that I won’t be seeing Ms. McGill on a regular basis now. She will really brighten your day!
